PTO Job Descriptions
The PTO Chairs are composed of PTO members who are either elected or appointed to the position. The Chairs meets on a monthly basis throughout the school year and, along with committee members, help manage the organizational and financial aspects of all the PTO functions.
The VP must attend all District PTO meetings and represent Grant Ragan. The VP attends and leads all of the Grant Ragan PTO meetings and overseas each of the Grant Ragan PTO Committees. The VP serves as a liaison between the PTO and the school Principal.
Creates (along with the Co-Vice Presidents) and maintains the PTO budget. Works closely with the VPs and all committee chairs
on all budget issues. Disburses checks and submits deposits, while working closely with the District Treasurer.
Manages the communication and membership of Grant Ragan PTO with attention to keeping the Grant Ragan staff, parents and students feeling welcomed and informed at PTO meetings and events and through various media.
Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing family and school events that promote community throughout the year. Some examples would be the Fall Tailgate and Spring Carnival.
Coordinates PTO fundraising activities and events throughout the year to support the PTO budget in supporting the Grant Ragan Elementary.
Organizes small ways to show appreciation to all staff throughout the year. Creates a special week of events/treats for the staff during the first week in May (School Staff/Teacher Appeciation week).
Works with the Librarian to schedule, arrange, set-up, tear down and staff the book fair twice a year at conference time.
Works with the Grant Ragan staff, homeroom parents and the yearbook printing company, to create a quality yearbook.
Recruits homeroom parents and provides the homeroom parent guidance to support the teachers and the classroom through classroom parties, volunteer or supply needs.
Apparel School Supplies
Organize and work with the design, ordering and distribution of apparel sales. Coordinates the order of the school supplies with the District PTO and the distribution of supplies before school starts.
Coordinates the meals for teachers during the Fall & Spring conferences including planning, set-up, tear-down and purchasing supplies as needed based on the budget.
Works with the KidStrong Inc. to organize the Striders program and implement all aspects of keeping track of miles throughout
